In its „Vision 2020“, Rwanda images itself as future regional business hub for East Africa. Best known for the genocide in 1994, Rwanda wants to transform its economy from a mainly agricultural one to a center for information and communication technology (ICT). The road is bumpy but promising. President Paul Kagame has done a lot to curb corruption and erradicate rep tape. The country recently completed to lay 2,300 kilometer of optic fibre cable and the mobile phone network is amogst Africas best. Rwandas youth is compulsory enrolled in schools and keen to study in universities, ready in 2020 to serve the region as ICT sepcialists (see chart).
